Training Specialist
 
Position Description:
The Training Specialist is responsible for improving the knowledge base and productivity of Middough employees through the development, promotion, presentation and auditing of development programs. The Training Specialist assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives through the identification of suitable training solutions for individual employees and organizational units. Actively searches, designs and implements effective solutions/methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Researches, plans, organizes, conducts and tracks training programs, seminars, and conferences for all administrative, supervisory, technical, and management personnel.
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results/productivity improvements and provide training metrics/measurements.
  • Develops material for new training programs/systems; reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing and proposed programs/systems and recommends appropriate changes.
  • Develops, administers and publishes a company-wide annual training program including training topics, sources and vendors.
  • Administers and evaluates training program qualification tests, determines eligibility of attendees and monitors the approval process to ensure accountability.
  • Prepares and distributes training aids such as software, instructional materials, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; identifies equipment/space needs and makes presentations when necessary.
  • Develops and implements a variety incentive/promotion programs to sell the training/career development agenda.
  • Develops, implements and analyzes employee surveys as required.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable about current developments in training and instructional methodologies including software and technology enhancements and attends periodic seminars, forums, and meetings.
  • Ability to author and organize training systems, policies, procedural manuals and supporting documentation for training programs and systems in accordance with adult learning and instructional design methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate with company personnel at all levels, trainers from other companies, professional training group members, and consultants and the ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
  • A bachelor’s degree in education, business administration or liberal arts and at least 5+ years of experience in a corporate or business setting, preferably with related human resources, personnel or administration experience.
  • Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships. Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to promote the program, create momentum and foster organizational change.
