Job Description

Structural Engineer
Position Description:
The Structural Engineer collects and prepares data/information and performs detailed engineering calculations. Structural Engineers perform basic engineering design for review and approval by senior department personnel. The Structural Engineer demonstrates technical/professional growth annually by maintaining active membership in professional organizations and participating in technical seminars/courses.
Essential Functions:
  • Collects and prepares data/information and performs detailed engineering calculations.
  • Assists in field work, checking installations, and problem solving activities.
  • Serves as Project Lead for select single-discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staffing recommendations, and checking drawings.
  • Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Engineering Technology degree or Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural is required
  • EIT certification
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Autocad, STAAD and TEDDS.
  • Familiarity with REVIT a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in structural and foundation design for refinery, chemical or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Experience in design of industrial facilities including equipment supports, pipe racks, platforms, tank foundations, etc.
  • EIT/FE required
  • PE, SE a plus
