Job Description

Sr. Mechanical Equipment Engineer – Process Technology

This is an onsite position for our client.  The duration of this assignment will be up to one year.

The Sr. Mechanical Equipment Engineer collects and prepares data/information and performs detailed engineering calculations. The Sr. Mechanical Equipment Engineer performs basic engineering design for review and approval by our client and our senior department personnel. The Sr. Mechanical Equipment Engineer demonstrates technical/professional growth annually by maintaining active membership in professional organizations and participating in technical seminars/courses.

Essential Functions:  
  1. Managing small single discipline projects from concept to implementation
  2. Experience providing conceptual estimates for proposed capital projects and turnaround worklist items
  3. Experience in engineered scope development for unit turnaround reliability initiatives
  4. Experience in PSM/PSR related meetings
  5. Experience answering operations operability and maintenance craft construction questions
  6. Troubleshooting reoccurring equipment reliability issues, researching new designs for implementation
  7. Specifying metallurgy, component types and ratings, construction methods, welding
  8. Performing discipline reviews for capital projects
  9. Turnaround maintenance support
  10. Available for turnaround support (6-12s)
  11. Available for unit upset support when requested (could include holidays, weekends, nightshift)
Available to climb tower ladders and confined space entry for engineering evaluations
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • 15+ years of experience  with familiarity with reliability engineering and fitness for service analysis (piping and fixed equipment to include:  exchangers, furnaces, boilers, towers, drums, vessels)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • When working outside Middough’s office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Middough and/or Client, as required.
