Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment)
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 15 – 20 years of experience working with (sizing, specifying, selecting and/or commissioning and troubleshooting) rotating equipment such as: pumps, motors, turbines, mixers/agitators, compressors,  fans, dryers, mechanical and pneumatic conveyors, etc.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of how relevant codes/standards from the following organizations apply to the design and selection of equipment and systems: AMCA, ANSI, API, ASME, ASTM, AWWA.
  • Familiarity with Sanitary Standards and Food Grade material and design requirements for equipment.
  • Valid PE license (preferred).
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior technical supervisory experience a plus.
  • Liquid and solid filling and packaging experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Applied Flow Technology products (Fathom, Arrow, Impulse) and Microsoft Office products.
 Essential Functions:
  • Ability to work as a technical lead, providing guidance and oversight to less experienced engineers.
  • Collects and prepares data/information and performs detailed engineering calculations.
  • Develops technical specifications & data sheets, performs technical evaluation of bids, and recommends best value design which meets client and applicable code requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability and safety.
  • Assists in field work, checking installations, and problem solving activities.
  • Performs calculation checking to validate simulation models, where applicable.
  • Interacts with other departments, suppliers and clients to obtain pertinent information.
