Job Description

Drafter  - Technical Administrator

Position Description: 
Responsible to collect, organize, maintain, and check project documents and perform clerical duties per client policies and procedures.  Control the release, storage, tracking, and distribution of project documents.  Apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of the department project portfolio.  Assist the Project Lead and Discipline Manager as required.

Essential Functions: 
  • Assembles and maintains project files (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings) as directed by the Project Lead.
  • Updates CAD drawings (orthographic, plans & sections, and isometrics) to support Designers.
  • Interacts with other departments and/or suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
  • Interacts with Discipline Lead to complete project scope.
  • Coordinates drawing and as-built returns to client document control vault (EDMS)
  • Performs quality check of as-builts vs. redlines.
  • Runs and stamps prints and other Project Document deliverables and prepares documentation packages for issue.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned by Discipline Manager
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Working knowledge of standard drafting techniques
  • Working knowledge of basic computer functions required to perform  2-D CAD
  • High School degree
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Understanding of office procedures and document management.
  • Organizational skills including the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to work as a team player or independently with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization, both verbally and in written format, in a professional manner.

  • Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
  • When working outside Middough’s office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Middough and/or Client, as required.
